As a proud Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) dealer, Nuss Truck & Equipment is excited to announce the latest addition to Volvo’s groundbreaking electric fleet: the 22-ton L120 Electric Wheel Loader. This innovative machine was unveiled at Volvo Days North America in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, and is set to transform the construction industry with its sustainability and high performance.
The L120 Electric offers all the power and capability of its diesel counterpart, the L120H, while boasting up to 30% lower maintenance requirements. This results in reduced downtime, increased efficiency, and a quieter, cleaner work environment—perfect for jobs in infrastructure, waste management, agriculture, forestry, and logistics. With faster response times and shorter cycle times, this machine is engineered for productivity and precision.
Performance Meets Sustainability
Key features of the L120 Electric include:
- 6-ton lifting capacity and 5-cubic yard rehandling bucket capacity
- 38,667 lb-ft of breakout force
- 282 kWh lithium-ion battery system, offering a runtime of 5-9 hours for light- and medium-duty tasks
- Charging options that include a 50-kW mobile charger (6-hour charge) and a 150-kW DC fast charger (2-hour charge)
- Energy recuperation technology, extending battery life and reducing brake wear
The machine’s torque parallel (TP) linkage keeps the bucket stable throughout the lift range, making it easier to load and carry materials. Additionally, it features active cooling and heating of the high-voltage batteries and reversing fans to clear debris automatically.
Built for Comfort and Control
Inside the cab, operators will enjoy the latest in Volvo technology, including a 12-inch high-resolution Co-Pilot tablet equipped with the Volvo Load Assist system for on-board weighing and auto bucket leveling. Hydraulic work modes allow operators to adjust the boom and bucket’s speed, optimizing energy use based on the task at hand.
The L120 Electric is also compatible with a wide range of Volvo attachments, including buckets, forks, grapples, brooms, and snowplows, making it a versatile addition to any fleet.
Coming Soon: The Future of Electric Construction
The L120 Electric will be commercially available in North America in 2025.
